Description
The Rutgers School of Nursing is seeking full time faculty qualified to teach clinical and didactic course in our Entry to Baccalaureate nursing program (traditional and 2nd degree). In this role, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with nursing colleagues and colleagues from other disciplines, maintain clinical practice competence, remain actively involved in professional organizations, maintain scholarship in their field, and actively seek opportunities for and participates in School of Nursing faculty governance.
The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in one or more of the following specialties:
- Medical/Surgical
- Public Health/Community Nursing
- Psych/Mental Health
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain high standards of teaching excellence while teaching primarily in the undergraduate program. Teaching will include clinical and didactic courses. Summer teaching will be required for this calendar year appointment.
- Maintain high standards of clinical practice and scholarship.
- Actively participate in professional organizations and School of Nursing faculty governance
- Administrative duties may include program recruitment, application review, student advisement and mentorship, maintaining program regulatory, certifying agency and specialty organization requirements, student clinical placement, and periodic curricular review and updates.
- Work collaboratively with nursing colleagues from other disciplines; and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Doctoral Degree (PhD/DNP/EdD) required or in progress
- Current clinical experience in one or all specialties listed
- Strong teaching background
- Current Licensure or eligibility for RN Licensure in New Jersey
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching foundations
- Experience in academic leadership
- Preference will be provided to candidates who demonstrate scholarship (e.g., publications, national presentations, grant funding) and active participation in community and/or professional organizations
